About us
Timberline High School orchestras are comprised of a dedicated group of 55+ musicians in grades ten through twelve led by Micah Claffey.
The orchestra perform five concerts throughout the school year, attend District 3 Festivals, State Solo and Ensemble Festival. Travel opportunities include a yearly retreat and a large out-of-State trip every three years.

About Our Conductor
Micah Claffey began his cello studies in Boise and became a member of the Boise Philharmonic in 2002. He went on to receive a Bachelor of Music from Vanderbilt University in 2008 and a Master of Music from Rice University Shepherd School of Music in 2010. In 2019, Mr. Claffey became Director of Orchestras at Timberline High School. In addition to his role as the Orchestra Director at Timberline, Mr. Claffey is Principal Cellist of Opera Idaho, Associate Principal Cello of Boise Baroque Orchestra and performs frequently with the Boise Philharmonic. He spends his summers performing with the Idaho Shakespeare Festival as their Principal Cellist.
